Fake currency racket busted, one arrested

Basti, Mar 18 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Police today busted a counterfeit currency racket and arrested the mastermind in Old Basti area here.

Police Superintendent V K Garg said 160 illegal tender amounting to Rs 80,000 in denomination of 500 were recovered from his possession.

The accued was later identified as Yasir alias Nisar of Sant Kabir Nagar district in Uttar Pradesh.

He had been sent to jail and investigations were on.
