Rae Bareli/Sultanpur, Mar 18 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today alleged that Congress was conspiring to eliminate him.

''After failing to dismiss my government and imposing President's Rule in UP, the Congress-led central dispensation is planning my murder,'' Mr Yadav claimed addressing election meetings here.

He claimed Congress was also aiming to implicate his son Akhilesh Yadav and SP general secretary Amar Singh in various cases.

''The felicitation of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi as the best CM in the country by Rajiv Gandhi Foundation shows that Congress is supporting of the fascist forces,'' he charged.

Rae Bareli and Sultanpur districts comprise the parliamentary segments of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi.

Mr Yadav lamented that except for CPI(M), all other parties were working against the welfare of Muslims.

Against the backdrop of the UP assembly poll, the CM warned BJP would capture power, if SP activists and general public failed to rise to the occasion.

Listing the achievements of his government, the SP chief said the state exchequer had ample funds, due to the pro-active and other developmental policies of his regime.

''If we return to power, more people-oriented schemes would be launched,'' he promised.
