Centre sanctions aid for TN development: Palanimanickam

Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, Mar 18 (UNI) Minister of State for Finance S S Palanimanickam today said the Centre had allocated Rs 14000 crore for various developmental activities in Tamil Nadu this year.

Speaking at a function after the distribution of free gas stoves and house pattas to the poor people here, the Minister said the larger allocation of fund was due to the ''cordial relationship'' the State was maintaining with the Centre.

Mr Palanimanickam said the State had sought further Rs 400 crore Central-aid for development and irrigation activities.
