4 killed in inter-factional clashes in Nagaland
Kohima, Mar 18 (UNI) At least four persons were killed and one was abducted in inter-factional clashes between NSCN(K) and NSCN-IM in different parts of Nagaland yesterday, official sources today said.
The first incident took place in Merangkong village under Tuli sub-division of Mokokchung district, when armed cadres of NSCN (K) attacked rival NSCN-IM cadres at around 1030 hours, killing one person on the spot and abducting another.
Meanwhile in a separate incident, a few unidentified gunmen, suspected to be NSCN-IM cadres, shot dead three NSCN (K) cadres, in Dimapur last evening at around 1900 hours.
Sources said the three were abducted by NSCN-IM cadres and were blindfolded before being shot from point blank range.
Sources further said the cadres were stationed in the Athibung area under Peren district.
Police had recovered two empty cases of AK-47 bullets from the spot.
With the killing of four persons, the death toll following inter-factional clashes in Nagaland had reached to eleven persons during March.
