15 IAF warriors undertakes cave trekking
Shillong, Mar 18 (UNI) A 15 - member team of Air warriors would undertake a cave trekking adventure in Meghalaya's Jaintia Hills from tomorrow as a part of the ongoing IAF's platinum jubilee celebrations.
The expedition, led by Group Captain S Bhatnagar, would comprise 14 others drawn from different units of the Eastern Air Command.
The trekking team would venture through the Tyngheng Cave near the villages of Sa Masi, Seilken and Umlawan. The trek has a stretch of 21.52 km which is the longest cave system in the Indian sub-continent.
The expedition is being planned in coordination with the Meghalaya Adventurers Association.
EAC's senior officer-in-charge Administration AVM J S Gandyok would flag off the venture tomorrow.
