Three people killed in bus accident

Purulia, Mar 17 (UNI) Three people were killed and ten injured when a bus fell into a farmland at Cheliyama, near here today.

Police said the driver of the bus lost control and fell into the farmland 15 feet below the road when giving way to a police van.

Three people died on the spot. The injured were rushed to the nearby hospital.

Additional Superintendent of police Rajiv Kumar visited the spot along with a police team. He said the toll is likely to increase as some bodies lying under the bus were yet to be retrieved.

However, unofficial sources had put the toll at seven.

Police had cordoned off the area and were carrying out rescue operations.
