Naxal killed, several injured

Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, Mar 17 (UNI) A naxal was shot dead and several others were injured in an encounter with police at Gundapur village in Dantewada district early today, police said.

Chhattisgarh Director General of Police O P Rathor told UNI here that the corpse of the slain ultra and a rifle had been recovered from the spot.

The rifle was allegedly looted during the recent massacre carried out by extremists in Ranibodli.

He suspected that several rebels were injured during the encounter. Police were combing the area to track down the ultras.
