Naxal killed
Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, Mar 17 (UNI) A naxal was shot dead and several others were injured during an encounter with police at Gundapur village in Dantewada district early today, police said.
Chhattisgarh Director General of Police O P Rathor told UNI here that the corpse of the slain ultra had been recovered from the spot along with a rifle.
The rifle was looted during the recent bloodbath carried out by extremists in Ranibodli.
He suspected that several rebels were injured during the encounter. Police were combing the area to track down the ultras.
Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh police were being contacted for taking action against extremists.
