MDMK's exit inconsequential, says P Chidambaram
Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu, Mar 17: Dismissing as inconsequential the exit of the MDMK from the UPA, senior Congress leader and Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram today said the new development will in no away affect the stability of the Manmohan Singh Government.
Responding to queries from mediapersons here, he said two Lok Sabha members of the MDMK have already come out of that party and as such Mr Vaiko's decision to pull out of the Congress-led UPA would not have any adverse consequences either for the UPA or the Government. The party was left with only two MPs, he added.
The Finance Minister refused to entertain questions on whether the Nandhigram issue provided an opportunity to have a relook on the entire gamut of Special Economic Zones(SEZ).
