Man sent to gallows for raping, killing minor

Hazaribagh, Mar 17 (UNI) A local court here today awarded death sentence to a man for raping and murdering a minor.

Hazaribagh District and Session Judge Amithabh Kumar imposed Rs 50,000 fine and sentenced to life the convict's wife, who helped him in the heinous crime.

According to the prosecution, accused Baldeev Lokra of Hatyari village invited 10-year-old Ruben Lokra to his house and raped her on August 27, 1995.

Police said the couple had murdered the girl and dumped her body in a field nearby.
