'Lagaan' waived for MP's hail-hit ryots
Gwalior, Mar 17 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today declared that land revenue would be waived for the state's hail-affected farmers, loan recovery postponed, they may pay power bills in instalments and half the surcharge would be waived on those paying regularly.
Ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh each would be doled out to the deceased's families. The Chief Minister visited affected villages in Gwalior, Datia, Bhind and Morena districts.
''Damage will be assessed in a week and distribution of relief funds begun,'' he assured peasants in this district's Virrat village.
