Journalist Alok Mehta to be honoured
Bhopal, Mar 17 (UNI) The state capital-based Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University (MCNU) will confer a prestigious award to senior journalist and Outlook (Hindi) Editor Alok Mehta to recognise his contribution to language journalism.
The award, including a commendation certificate and a cash component of Rs one lakh, one hundred and one, will be bestowed on Mr Mehta at a function on the occasion of Late Pandit Makhanlal Chaturvedi in Bhopal on April 5.
Mr L K Shinghvi, eminent legal luminary and a former diplomat, will be the Chief Guest, a press release said here today.
A large number of senior journalists from all over the state and the country are expected to take part in the function.
Mr Mehta, who started his journalistic career from Ujjain, had served as the Editor of Nai Duniya, Dainik Bhaskar, Navbharat Times and Dainik Hindustan newspapers.
The MCNU Mahaparishad has decided to institute the award every year in the memory of veteran freedom fighter and journalist Late Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi, the release added.
