IIM-L rakes in moolah with MDPs for top professionals
Lucknow, Mar 17 (UNI) The premier Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L) has raked in moolah amounting to Rs 6.15 crore this year from its various Management Development Programmes (MDP) for working executives, up from Rs 5.31 crore last year.
IIM-L conducted a total of 72 MDPs for 1,550 top and senior level management executives this year.
Corporate houses from Sri Lanka, Oman, Bangladesh, China and Singapore have also evinced interest and are exploring the possibilities of conducting similar programmes through the Institute.
Meanwhile, 282 IIM-L students were awarded diplomas at the 21st annual convocation here this afternoon.
These included 262 students in the 21st batch of PG Programme (PGP) and 14 students in the second batch of the Institute's PGP in Agri-Business Management.
Besides, three students in the Fellow Programme, the doctoral level programme, received their title at the event.
This year, IIM-L hosted many students from the partner institutions in France, Denmark, Spain, Belgium and Sweden.
For the first time, one student from the partner institute was conferred a PGP Diploma under the International Exchange Programme at the convocation.
The students were feted by D S Brar, Chairman, IIM-L Board of Governors and Chairman, GVK Services Private Limited.
Future Group CEO and Pantaloon Retial (India) Limited MD Kishore Biyani was the chief guest on the occasion. The doyen of the Indian organised retail industry also delivered the convocation address.
The Institute had already completed its placement procedure on March 8 -- successfully placing all its 278 graduating students this year.
There were 554 offers made to 278 students (against 491 last year), including 28 international offers (against 24 last year).
Various organisations participating in the Agri-Business Management placement process included ITC, Reliance Industries, Cadbury, ICICI Prudential, Godrej Agrovet, ICICI Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and Murugappa Group.
