Shimla, Mar 17 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today launched a blistering attack on the opposition BJP on the corruption issue and said its euphoria over the poll results in Punjab and Uttarakhand would be short lived for the ground realities in the hill state were different.

Replying to the debate on the Budget proposals for 2007-2008, presented by him on March five in the Assembly here, he said ''people neck-deep in corruption during the tenure of their government had no moral right to point fingers'' at others.

Terming the BJP charge sheet against the government as one of the most ''ill-drafted'' document, Mr Singh said this was nothing more than a bundle of lies since no supporting documents had been tagged with it.

He said the BJP's demand for a CBI inquiry into its charge sheet was unjust, since it had only written ''seen and filed'' on the well-documented charge sheet, submitted by the then opposition Congress, against the Dhumal Government.

The BJP cannot have double stand on the charge sheet issue, he said. ''This year's charge sheet has merely repeated all the allegations against the state government made last year.'' He said corruption was not a serious issue for the BJP since the leader of the opposition P K Dhumal did not refer to it during his speech on the Budget proposals.

''And its seems Mohinder Singh Thakur has now become the defender and the new ideologue of BJP and agitates about everything,'' he said.
