Hooda hails bonus on wheat
Chandigarh, Mar 17 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has hailed the decision of the Central Government to announce a bonus of Rs 100 per quintal on the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 750 per quintal for wheat.
In a statement issued here today, Mr Hooda expressed his gratitude to UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the decision taken in the larger interests of the farming community.
Mr Hooda said even earlier the Centre had made a timely hike of Rs 100 per quintal in the MSP for wheat thus raising it to Rs 750 per quintal. Now the bonus of Rs 100 per quintal would not only enable the farmers to have remunerative price for their produce, but would also boost their morale, he added.
