Dismissed cop kills wife

Rajkot, Mar 17 (UNI) A dismissed State Reserve Police (SRP) Constable has allegedly stabbed his wife to death at village Vavdi on the outskirts of the city, police today said.

Jayubha Gajubha Jadeja stabbed his wife Dhirajba 26 times with a knife late last night. He ran away after committing the crime.

Seeing his mother lying in a pool of blood, the couple's son Hardipsinh took her to a nearby hospital, where the doctors declared here brought dead. Later, he lodged a complaint, with the police.

In the complaint, Hardipsinh stated that his father was jobless after he was fired from his service and was unemployed. He had taken to drinking, which was opposed by his mother.

Fed up with his wife's constant nagging, Jayubha took the extreme step.

An offence has been registered under section 302-188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), police added.
