Coir industry semiar on Mar 19

Rajahmundry, Mar 17 (UNI) The Coir Board is organising a one-day seminar on coir industry at Doweleswaram near here on March 19.

In a release, Board Regional Officer Premraj Koonkaran said the seminar, at the Regional Office here, would be inaugurated by Coir Board, secretary (Kochi) M Kumar Raja. Coir industrialists, enterpreneurs, coir workers, stake holders and NGOs are expected to particiapte in it.

The Board had shifted its regional office from Visakhapatnam to here in view of the demands from the industry. After the office shifting, nearly 1200 metric tonnes of coir products were exported from the state.

There was a proposal to set up a technology demonstration centre with the latest coir processing machines to impart training, the release added.
