Guwahati: Six injured in a blast in Asom

At
least
six
people
were
injured,
one
of
them
critically,
when
an
explosion
rocked
a
motor-cycle
parking
lot
beside
the
busy
AT
Road
in
the
heart
of
the
city
today.
At
least
12
motorcycles
were
burnt
in
the
fire,
which
engulfed
the
area
following
the
blast.
Police
suspect
the
hand
of
the
banned
ULFA
behind
the
explosion,
which
took
place
in
front
of
Bishwa
Ratna
Hotel.
The
bomb
was
probably
planted
in
one
of
the
motor-cycles,
parked
in
the
area.
An
LPG
cylinder
also
exploded
in
the
area
under
the
impact
of
the
blast.
Senior
police
officials
of
the
city
rushed
to
the
spot
immediately
after
the
explosion
and
the
area
was
cordoned
off.
A
manhunt
was
launched
in
the
city
to
nab
the
culprit.
The
injured
were
admitted
to
Guwahati
Medical
College
Hospital
here.
