Bus crash kills 14 in southwestern China
Beijing, Mar 16: A bus crash in southwestern China has killed 14 people and injured 12, state media today reported.
A minibus carrying 26 people in Yunnan province overturned yesterday night and fell into a bamboo-covered valley, Xinhua news agency said, citing local police.
Rescuers said 10 of the 26 passengers died immediately and four died in hospital.
Yesterday morning, 22 people were killed when a bus veered off a highway and plunged into a reservoir in China's northwestern Shaanxi province.
Nearly 99,000 people were killed in 450,000 traffic accidents in China last year, state media reported.
