Uttarakhand assembly adjourned thrice
Dehra Dun, Mar 15 (UNI) Uttarakhand Assembly was adjourned thrice today following the Congress and the Bahujan Samaj Party demanding discussion on the issues vital to the interests of the state.
As soon as speaker Harbas Kapoor entered the House, Congress members headed by leader of Opposition Harak Singh Rawat, raised from their seats demanding discussion under rule 310 on the incident of abduction of Shobhit Agarwal, son of one oil trader Girish Chandra Aggarwal in Ramnagar on March 11.
Shobhit was abducted, battered and left at Kaladhungi forest, where he succumed to his injuries.
Whereas, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) demanded discussion on displacement of people in Haridwar district by the government.
Members of both the parties entered the well of the House shouting slogans.
When repeated plea by the Speaker failed, he adjourned the House at 1115 hrs for 30 minutes.
The chaous continued even after the House reassembled at 1145 as the Congress and the BSP members continued their sloganering.
Speaker adjourned the House again for 30 minutes just after 5 minutes at 1150 hrs.
The Speaker adjourned the House for the third time from 1220 to 1245 for the third time.
