MP Assy passes supplementary budget
Bhopal, Mar 15 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Assembly today passed by voice vote the third supplementary demands for Rs 1745.86 crore for the 2006-07 fiscal.
Finance Minister Raghavji, while replying to the debate on the budget proposals, said that the government was committed to ensuring balanced development. The third supplementary budget was necessitated as the Centre's allocation for various schemes was received at the fag end of the financial year.
He assured that a demand for regularising part-time peons and clerks would be considered. Additional provision was made for implementing the Dube Committee's recommendations on granting higher wages to contract teachers.
Leader of the Opposition Jamuna Devi (Cong) alleged that the government was not paying heed to the observations of the Comptroller and Auditor-General of India.
