Dr S Budhichandra to be next Manipur Speaker

Imphal, Mar 15 (UNI) Dr S Budhichandra (Congress) of Konthoujam Assembly Constituency was the lone candidate who filed nomination papers for the Speaker's post of the Manipur Legislative Assembly.

Assembly officials said today was the last date for submission of papers and Dr Budhichandra had submitted the papers.

The Opposition parties have not fielded any candidate.
