Ban transfer of funds through participatory notes: BJP

Visakhapatnam, Mar 14 (UNI) Terming the Hasan Ali's incident as a serious and dangerous scandal that happened during the two-and-a- half-year-old UPA regime, the BJP today demanded an immediate ban on transfer of funds through participatory notes, which had led to re-entry of money into the country through political payouts, via Mauritius.

Speaking at a press conference here, BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said the Rs 35,000 crore involved in the Ali scam was the political payout from various deals that happened during the UPA rule in the Centre. This included various international deals, he added.

We demand an immediate ban on participatory notes, through which one could bring in crores of rupees without tendering any explanation, Mr Javadekar added.

He said 10 accounts in Swiss banks had been frozen and this was only the tip of the ice berg. We demanded that the entire details of the scam should be made known to the public.

A special team of officers should investigae the shameful act, he said.
