PMK chief regrets Left MPs' conduct over Maritime Varsity Bill
Villupuram, Tamil Nadu, Mar 13 (UNI) PMK Founder-Leader S Ramadoss today expressed regret over the incident in which UPA alliance partners-- the DMK and the Left-- virtually came to blows in the Lok Sabha over the bill providing for setting up a Maritime University in Tamil Nadu.
In a release, Dr Ramadoss said it was 'unfortunate' the Left MPs from West Bengal prevented the Shipping Minister T R Baalu from introducing the Indian Martime University Bill.
Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee had earlier permitted the Minister to introduce the Bill and all members of the Lok Sabha were informed about it.
Dr Ramadoss said it was sad on the part of the Left MPs to attempt to attempt to tear the Bill and urged all parties in Tamil Nadu to extend their support to establish the university in the state.
