One worker killed in US camp blast in Kuwait
KUWAIT, Mar 12 (Reuters) One worker was killed and three others wounded in a blast at a US Army camp in Kuwait today, which appeared to be an accident, the camp said.
''The initial report indicated the workers may have disturbed unexploded ordinance. No American or Kuwaiti service members or civilians were involved,'' it said in a statement sent to Reuters.
It said the accident, which took place at around 1720 hrs at Camp Arifjan, was under investigation.
Officials declined to give the names or the nationalities of the workers until their families had been informed. Those wounded had been taken to a hospital at the base.
The camp provides support facilities for American troops in Kuwait.
