HC issues notices to EC, state government

Allahabad, March 13 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court has issued notices to the Election Commission of India, UP Election Commission and the Central and State governments on a PIL seeking various facilities for disabled people in the forthcoming UP Assembly elections.

The order was passed today by a Division Bench comprising Justices S R Alam and Krishna Murari on the petition filed by Bhartiya Vilkang Kalyan Association, through its president U S Pandey of Banda district.

The petitioner has appealed to provide a ramp at every polling booth for disabled voters.

The case will come up for hearing in the Court on March 19.
