Former Ex-MLA dead

Sagar, MP, Mar 13 (UNI) Former MLA and Sagar's ex-mayor Lokman Khateek passed away this morning following cardiac arrest at his residence here.

He was 62.

Mr Khateek, who is survived by two sons and three daughters, won this district's Naryawali reserved Assembly seat in 1985 on a Congress ticket. He became mayor a decade later. Mr Khateek's brother Uttam Chand has also been a legislator.

The funeral would take place here this evening.
