Disturbed woman sets herself, son ablaze

Surat, Mar 13 (UNI) A woman, who was mentally disturbed after her husband tested HIV +ve, attemped suicide by setting herself and her son ablaze.

Bavanaben, wife of a diamond trader, residing at Sita Nagar in Poonagam area here, tried committing suicide last night by setting herself and her one-and-half-year-old son on fire, police sources said.

Both of them were rusehd to a civic hospital where her son succumbed to injuries. She is undergoing treatment for her severe burn injuries.

She has been charged with the murder of her son, sources added.
