Central Excise evasion detected

Hyderabad, Mar 13 (UNI) The Hyderabad Regional unit of the Directorate General of Central Excise Intelligence detected a case of massive evasion of Central Excise and misuse of Cenvat Credit Scheme by some aluminum extrusion manufacturers.

The amount of evasion involved was estimated to about Rs nine crore, according a release by Directorate General of Central Excise Intelligence here.

During the investigation, three senior level persons directly concerned with the activities of the companies were arrested. They were later remanded in judicial custody.
