BJP will come back to power in UP: Javadekar

Vijayawada, Mar 13 (UNI) The National Democratic Alliance, led by BJP will come back to power in Uttar Pradesh, BJP official spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said today.

Addressing a press conference here, he said with the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre failing on all fronts, the people were vexed with the 'anti-people' policies of the government and voted for the NDA alliance parties in the recent Punjab and Uttarakhad assembly elections.

He hoped in the coming elections in Uttar Pradesh and other states, the BJP would come to power.

Mr Javadekar said mostly Bt cotton growers in the Congress-ruled states of Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra had allegedly committed suicide due to less production and not getting remunerative prices for their produce.

The BJP leader alleged that Congress party and the policy of its leaders in Andhra Pradesh was only to grab land and indulge in corruption.

Referring to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu statement that the legislative council would be dissolved if the TDP was voted to power in the 2009 assembly elections, Mr Javedkar asked if the TDP intention is to dissolve the Council, why they were contesting in the Legislative Council elections.

He said the BJP favoured functioning of two houses system as it helped to solve the peoples' problem.

Mr Javadekar is here to campaign for BJP supported MLC candidates M Papa Rao from Krishna-Guntur Graduates constituency.
