Two dacoits arrested
Jabalpur, Mar 12 (UNI) Two dacoits, who carried a reward of Rs 1,000 on their head and were wanted in connection with a dacoity six months back, were arrested and looted material worth Rs four lakh recovered from them, police said today.
Surendra Patel alias Bhawani Singh and Pradhum Soni were arrested by a team led by Gorakhpur Station House Officer Rajesh Tiwari last night from Gorakhpur Bazaar when the duo were roaming in the area with the motive of committing some crime.
The duo had committed dacoity at Ramu Sindhi's house on August 31 along with five other accused and looted jewelllery and cash worth Rs four lakh. While other accused were arrested immediately, Surendra and Pradhum managed to escape along with the loot.
Superintendent of Police Makrand Deoskar had announced a prize of Rs 1,000 on their head.
Based on the duo's interrogation, the looted material was dug out from a plot near Khandari nullah.
