Three day NAFRE convention in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Mar 12: National Alliance For Right to Education andEquity (NAFRE) has organised a three day convention from today on'Education and Livelihood of Oppressed and Lokneeti in the Era ofGlobalisation and Communal Fascism' here.

Demanding implementation of common schooling system and making theright to livelihood a fundamental right, Karan Singh Tyagi, NationalConvener, NAFRE told mediapersons that when an entire group of peoplecontinue to remain oppressed and deprived despite creation of enormouswealth, pro-people alternatives need to be worked out.

He said common schooling system is one way through which thedeprived will get an opportunity for education and can live a dignifiedlife. People with similar ideology should come together on one platformand work towards an equitable society, he added.

''NAFRE had played an important role in bringing the issue ofcommon school system to the forefront and it does not look at educationin isolation but as a right to life and the means by which all otherrights can be insured,'' he said.

As many as 850 delegates including observers and guests willattend the convention while on the final day thousands of people willjoin a rally, he added.
