BJP centralising administration: Digvijay
Bhopal, Mar 12 (UNI) Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh today said in the Assembly that the BJP government was centralising governance in Madhya Pradesh with all programmes controlled from the Chief Minister's residence.
''During the previous Congress regime, Madhya Pradesh was ranked among first five states which went for e-governance. The state had ignored information technology sector. Even the government website was not updated and still showed him (Mr Singh) as the Chief Minister'', Mr Singh said while initiating the general debate on the state's budgetary demands for 2007-08.
Referring to teleconferencing schemes like ''Samadhan Online", wherein the Chief Minister keeps a tab on the administrative network through video, Mr Singh said actual field work had become scarce. In order to consult the stakeholders, the Chief Minister held separate panchayats for women, tribals, farmers and employees at his official residence only. There was no wider consultation, he said.
The BJP government had revived the divisional-level offices, which were abolished during the previous Congress rule, only to increase administrative expenses and to negate a decision of his regime, Mr Singh said.
