AP BJP to hold 'Chalo Assembly' on Mar 26
Vijayawada, Mar 12 (UNI) The BJP in Andhra Pradesh would organise a 'Chalo Assembly' programme on March 26 to protest the 'anti-farmer' policies of state and Central governments.
State BJP President Bandaru Dattatreya told newmen sugarcane, tobacco and turmeric farmers were suffering due to lack of support prices for their produce.
He wanted the state goverenment to procure farmer's produce through Markfed and FCI.
The BJP leader also wanted the government to take up canal works on the Nagarjunsagar as famers in the tail end areas were not able to get water.
Mr Dattatreya criticised the both ruling Congress and Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for failing to organise unanimous election to the council seats in Assembly quota.
