Indore, Mar 11 (UNI) Firing a broadside at the Centre's Congress-led United Progressive Alliance regime for striking Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan's name off a scheme, BJP leader and former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha has said that once his party came to power, it would rename every scheme christened by the UPA.

''The Budget for 2007-08 imposed taxes at will. The Government and the Union Finance Minister are working under pressure and the allocation for the social sector has declined. The number of districts under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme has been enhanced to 330 from 200 but the allocation reduced from Rs 11,300 crore to Rs 10,800 crore,'' he said last evening at a budget review programme here.

Former Union Minister Sumitra Mahajan also addressed the gathering.
