'No faith in Allah hence drought, climate change'- cleric

Melbourne, March 11 (UNI) A decade old drought which has ruined the farming community has been blamed on Australians' lack of faith in Allah by a Muslim cleric.

Melbourne mullah Muhammad Omran, who has caught media attention in the recent past for his radical views, has attacked ''out of control secular scientific values'' for devastating environment.

''The fear of Allah is not there. So we have now a polluted earth, polluted water, a wasteland,'' Mullah Omran was quoted as saying by the News Corp newspapers.

''What are the people now crying for? The prophet told you hundreds of years ago, 'Look after water','' he said.

Radical clerics campaigning against western values such as democracy, freedom of speech, equality of women among others are fast becoming a norm in the social life of the Australian Muslims in the past few years.

These clerics have also been allegedly vilifying Jews and Christians while asking followers of Islam to participate in jihad.

The self-styled grand mufti of Australia, and Imam of Lakemba Mosque in Sydney, Sheikh Taj Aldin Al Halali has been leading this campaign. Sheikh Halali has been blamed on numerous occasions of hving spread hatred between communities.

According to Sunday Herald Sun there are a number of DVDs being sold in Australia asking Muslims to 'take control of Australia by out-breeding non-believers'.

The Rupert Murdoch owned newspaper has alleged that a Muslim Information centre in northern Melbourne suburb of Coburg is selling CDs, DVDs and literature of the radical religious leaders.

These CDs and DVDs also allegedly ask for Sharia law in Australia and want Muslims to wage war against 'sick' west besides praising September 11 happening.

The list of these alleged hate-mongers include firebrand London cleric Abdul Raheem, Melbourne sheikh Abu Hamza, Muhammad Omran, Sheikh Hilali and others.

Islamic Council of Victoria spokesman Waleed Aly, according to the newspaper, has expressed disappointment over the Sunday Herald Sun investigation.
