Namdhari resigns as MLA

Ranchi, Mar 11 (UNI) Senior JD (U) leader and former speaker Inder Singh Namdhari tonight tendered his resignation from the Jharkhand Assembly to speaker Alamgir Alam.

''With this my association with JD(U) stood sundered as my resignation from the assembly automatically meant my parting ways with ''that party,'' he said.

Though the Speaker said he had not yet accepted the resignation but Mr Namdhari said his decision was irrevokable.

Mr Namdhari said he wanted that his party should support the BJP in the March 29 by-election to Palamu, as they were under the ''NDA fold.'' ''When the JD(U) refused to accept'' my suggestion, I deemed it fit to resign from the house feeling neglected in the party, he told reporters here after handing over the resignation letter.
