MNF to snap its alliance with BJP led NDA

Aizawl, Mar 11: The Mizo National front (MNF) has decided to snap its alliance with BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

MNF secretary K Lalthawmmawia said here today that the decision was made in party's national executive committee meeting, chaired by Chief Minister and party supremo Zoramthanga, here yesterday.

He also stated that the party's MPs, Vanlalzawma in the Lok Sabha and Lalhmingliana in the Rajya Sabha, would join the Independent and extend issue based support to either NDA or UPA.

According to party insiders, MNF legislature party would arrange separate seats in both the Houses after the party informs its decision to Parliament.

It further maintained that as most of the people of Mizoram are Christians, they have found it to hard to accept (the MNF's) ties with NDA, led by BJP.
