Mah: Zilla Parishad, Panchayat election begins

Mumbai, Mar 11: Voting for the 27 Zilla Parishads and 310 Panchayat Samitis in Maharashtra began at 0730 hrs today.

Elections are being held to 1,636 wards of 27 Zilla Parishads and 3,258 wards of 310 Panchayat Samitis. Over 3.45 crore voters are eligible to cast their votes in today's polling.

Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be used for polling.

Counting of votes will be taken up on March 12.
