Iran-India ''peace pipeline'' to strengthen relations
Dubai, Mar 11 (UNI) Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki has said construction of the ''peace pipeline'' from his country to India marks a new chapter in the two countries' relations.
Elaborating on the measures to transfer gas from Iran to India, he said the recent trilateral summit among India, Iran and Pakistan, is the beginning of a new relationship between Iran and the Indian subcontinent, Tehran Times reported today.
After a meeting on Wednesday Mr Mottaki was speaking with Mr Ahmed Vazir, a minister without portfolio in the External Affairs Ministry.
Both sides evaluated bilateral ties as 'positive' and said economic cooperation, especially in the field of energy, transportation, engineering, and technical services, is progressing.
He also expressed the hope that by taking effective approaches the private sectors in both countries can also find areas of cooperation.
