Cong dubs Fernandes' remark a ''stunt''

New Delhi, Mar 11 (UNI) The Congress today termed as ''political stuntmanship'' former Defence Minister George Fernandes statement retracting from his yesterday's remark that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had told him not to open the Bofors file.

''The joke is on Mr Fernandes and his former boss Atal Bihari Vajpayee,'' Congress spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said, reacting to the 'U-turn' made by Mr Fernandes on his remark on Italian fugitive Ottavio Quattrocchi.

''This is nothing but political stuntmanship,'' Mr Singhvi said, dismissing the former Defence Minster's remark.
