BJP accord with JD-U, Apna Dal for UP polls
New Delhi, Mar 11 (UNI) The BJP today announced forging of an electoral alliance with the Janata Dal (United and Apna Dal for Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.
Addressing a joint press conference here, JD-U President Sharad Yadav and BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said the alliance has been formed with a view to removing the Mulayam Singh Government and to keeping Bahujan Samaj Party out of power in the State so as to make Uttar Pradesh corruption free.
The alliance would be led by former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, Mr Yadav said.
BJP sourcs said an understanding had been reached for for leaving 50 seats for the JD-U and Apana Dal .Of these 32 to 35 seats would be allotted to Apana Dal and 12 to 15 seats to JD-U.
According to the sources, the BJP would not part with more than 50 seats for its alliance4 partners.
