KMP Expresway gets environment clearance
Chandigarh, Mar 10 (UNI) Decks have been cleared for the speedy and timely implementation of the prestigious Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway in Haryana with the project getting environment clearance from the Centre.
Mr Rajeev Arora, Managing Director of Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructural Development Corporation (HSIIDC), today said the Ministry of Environment and Forests had accorded the environment learance to the project.
He said the Western Periphery Expressway, probably the longest in the country so far, was expected to be completed within the stipulated period of three years i.e. by the middle of 2009. The Managing Director said the HSIIDC had been made the nodal agency by the State Government for the development of this 135.65 Km. 4 or 6 lane access controlled expressway on BOT basis.
The Expressway takes off from Kundli in Sonipat on NH-1 and passes through Bahadurgarh in Jhajjar on NH-10, Manesar in Gurgaon on NH-8 and terminates near Palwal in Faridabad on NH-2.
