Congress leader arrested in Beas poll code violation

Amritsar, Mar 10 (UNI) Amritsar district Congress president Sukhjinder Singh Lalli was the arrested by the police for violation of the election code of conduct in the Beas assembly constituency this evening.

Confirming the arrest, a police official said that the Congress leader violated the code of conduct by remaining in the constituency after campaigning ended last evening.

Lalli was later produced before a Judicial Magistrate, who relased him on bail.

Election in the Beas assembly constituency to be held tomorrow.
