Cong high command surrounded by sycophants: Bishnoi

Hisar, Mar 10 (UNI) Continuing his attack on Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the wake of his suspension from the party, Congress MP Kuldeep Bishnoi, son of former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, today said the Congress high command was surrounded by sycophants.

''The Congress high command is surrounded by sycophants and the suspension order proves that the party leadership is hobnobbing with big capitalists rather than standing by the common man,'' Mr Bishnoi told reporters on his first visit to hometown Hisar after being supensded from the party.

He also hit out at Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, saying he was not the choice of the people of Haryana for the top post but imposed by the high command.

The Congress, he alleged, had no existence in Haryana without the Bhajan Lal family. ''We are the Congress in Haryana and the Congress has no existence in the state without us.'' On the possibility of launching a new party, he said the decision on the issue would be taken after consultations with their supporters and party workers in general.

His father Bhajan Lal was also present in the press conference but he declined to respond to reporters' queries.

Meanwhile, HPCC spokesman Ved Prakash Vidrohi said the state unit of the party as well as the office-bearers of the district and block level had welcomed the suspension of Mr Bishnoi.
