Bogus votes polled in MP by-elections:Cong
Bhopal, Mar 10 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee has accused the BJP of casting bogus votes during by-elections in Sidhi Lok Sabha and Udaypura Vidhan Sabha constituencies yesterday.
In a statement here today, state Congress President Subhash Yadav severely criticised police for not being able to control irregularities during polling.
Besides, voters did not get extra time despite the fact that polling began late due to some technical glitch in EVMs in Sidhi.
He alleged that election officers in several polling centres got bogus votes polled in the BJP's favour in Sidhi and claimed that Gondwana Ganatantra Party workers captured booth no 159 and prevented polling in Singrauli assembly constituency area.
Mr Yadav alleged that in Udaypura constituency, BJP candidate's husband and BJP MP Rampal Singh terrorised electorates with the help of armed people.
The Congress leader expressed surprise that the district election officer had not taken action despite complaints of poll irregularities and violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
