ACB arrests PSI while accepting bribe

Mumbai, Mar 10 (UNI) The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths here have arrested a Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from an accused at Mira Road in neighbouring Thane district.

The ACB sources said suspended PSI Vilas Shivaji Jadhav (29), who was arrested last evening, had arrested five persons in a rioting case, all of whom were released on bail later.

Thereafter, Jadhav had approached one of the accused Nadeem Mumtaz Sheikh and demanded Rs 10,000 each (a total of Rs 50,000). He threatened them of moving an application for cancellation of their bail and to book them in false cheating case on failure to fulfill his demand.
