Kolkata, Mar 9 (UNI) Faced with stiff opposition to the state Government's industrial policy, the Left Front Legislature Party today decided to remain united during the budget session of the Assembly.

Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, who was present at the meeting, appealed to the Front legislators not to give any opportunity to the opposition to capitalise on the differences within the ruling partners over industrialisation.

''We have resolved to cement our unity and make a coordinated move on the floor of the House to thwart any move of the opposition to create trouble,'' senior RSP member Khsiti Goswami said.

Expressing satisfaction over the outcome of the meeting, Minister and CPI leader Nandagopal Bhattacharya said while it was natural for the Front constituents to have minor differences of opinion, the meeting was unanimous that they must put up a united front.

Both Mr Goswami and Mr Bhattacharya had criticised the Chief Minister in the past for going ahead with acquisition of agricultural land and the unrest in Nandigram and Singur. They had also accused the CPI(M) as well as the Chief Minister of keeping the smaller coalition partners in dark about the process of acquiring land for industry.
