Panaji, Mar 9 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in Goa Assembly Manohar Parrikar today demanded a CBI probe against AICC general-secretary Margaret Alva, in charge of the Goa desk, and Health Minister Dayanand Narvekar for their alleged complicity in advising 80 daily wagers of the Directorate of Health Services to donate Rs 31.25 lakh on the promise of regularising their jobs.

He told reporters here the daily wagers collected the fund and donated it to the North Goa Congress Committee on the advice of Ms Alva.

The inquiry should cover Ms Alva, besides the Director of Health Services and others, responsible for collecting the fund instead of initiating an action against the treasurer, who received it on behalf of the party.

The GPCC had expelled the treasurer of the North Goa District Congress Committee yesterday for collecting the fund.

Meanwhile, the issue came to light when some of the daily wagers, who were not confirmed, lodged a police complaint on the advice of Health Minister Dayanand Narvekar, Mr Parrikar added.
