Anthony from St Andre constituency joins BJP with supporters

Panaji, Mar 9 (UNI) Panchayat Member and social worker Anthony Caido along with more than 400 of his supporters today joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Goa in presence of state party president Shripad Naik and former chief minister Manohar Parrikar.

Mr Naik welcomed Mr Caido and his supporters in the party.

Speaking to mediapersons after joining the party, Mr Caido criticised the Congress government in state. He said he joined the BJP not for ticket but for it's style of work. He alleged that the Congress leaders worked for their self interest, but the BJP worked for development of the state and for the people.

Admitting that Goa achieved a lot of progress during the BJP rule under the leadership of Mr Parrikar, he said the party would stage a comeback in the coming elections.
